PhageDi Project
"PhageDi – Development of a modern technology for the production of innovative animal-free reagents for the serological identification of Salmonella bacteria" 2025-2029

In 2025, the Research and Development Department of Salmonella Center IMMUNOLAB Ltd. received funding in a competition organized by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) – the SMART Path call, financed under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 programme (FENG), for the implementation of project No. FENG.01.01-IP.02-0517/24 entitled “PhageDi – Development of a modern technology for the production of innovative animal-free reagents for the serological identification of Salmonella bacteria”.
The aim of the project is to develop an innovative technology enabling the production of high-quality animal-free diagnostic reagents, ensuring greater repeatability and availability, and supporting the gradual reduction of the use of animal-derived sera.
The project includes the following activities:
- implementation of modern laboratory infrastructure supporting research and development activities,
- use of advanced Phage Display technology to develop new diagnostic reagents,
- conducting research and development work on their quality and functionality,
- performing quality tests and laboratory validation,
- development of the technological basis for the implementation of innovative animal-free reagents.
Target groups
The results of the project will serve institutions responsible for public health safety, the food control sector, and manufacturers of diagnostic tests.
Project results
As a result of the project, a new technology will be developed to enable the creation of animal-free diagnostic reagents. The project will contribute to improving the effectiveness of Salmonella identification, food safety, and public health protection. In addition, a patent application is planned, as well as the creation of a new job position in the R&D area.
