R&D Team

The Research and Development Team at IMMUNOLAB is a group of highly qualified specialists from various fields of science who have been working together for years on projects aimed at breakthrough discoveries and innovations in the spirit of One Health, in the areas of health, immunochemistry and microbiology.

The team includes experts in biology, biotechnology, immunochemistry, genetic engineering and microbiology. Thanks to many years of experience and close cooperation, we create solutions that set new standards in research and development.

Together, we continuously push the boundaries of knowledge to introduce innovative solutions that have a real impact on the quality of life and the health of animals and humans.

Our Specialists: 

Paulina Czoska
Deputy Director for Research and Development

Paulina Czoska joined our company in 2016 and has since made a significant contribution to the development of the Research and Development unit. During her first years at IMMUNOLAB, she developed and carried out key R&D projects that initiated the rapid growth of this area. Her commitment and experience led her to the position of Head of the Research and Development Department, where she effectively managed the team and supervised the implementation of innovative projects.

Currently, as Deputy Director, she focuses on the strategic development of the department, supporting the company’s long-term goals. She is also involved in obtaining external funding and coordinating ongoing research and development work to ensure the implementation of state-of-the-art technological solutions. Thanks to her vision and skills in building and managing R&D teams, she contributes to setting new directions for innovation within our organization. In addition to her core responsibilities, she is also involved in recruitment, helping to attract talents who align with the vision of our team.

Hanna Sominka-Pierzchlewicz
Head of the Research and Development Department

Hanna Sominka-Pierzchlewicz joined IMMUNOLAB in 2020 and is currently Head of the Research and Development Department, where she leads R&D activities of strategic importance to the company. In 2024, she obtained a PhD in biological sciences, reflecting her advanced expertise and many years of experience in molecular biology.

She coordinates the work of the R&D team and supervises the implementation of innovative projects that support the development of new technologies and strengthen the company’s innovation potential. Her management skills and ability to build teams with the right competencies play an important role in the effective delivery of research and development work.

As an internal auditor, she has an excellent understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality standards, helping ensure that projects are carried out in line with applicable requirements and industry expectations.

Hanna is also actively involved in the long-term development of the department, including the preparation of strategies supporting the implementation of modern technologies and research solutions. She also manages the process of obtaining external funding for new projects that strengthen IMMUNOLAB’s position in the industry.

Magdalena Ponichtera
Senior Specialist| Heat of the Training Department

Magdalena Ponichtera has been part of IMMUNOLAB Ltd. since 2018, developing her expertise in molecular biology, genetic engineering and immunochemistry. She currently works as a Senior Research and Development Specialist and, since 2024, has also headed the Training Department, where she is responsible for developing and delivering training programmes for the laboratory and scientific sectors.

In her R&D work, she specialises in the overproduction and purification of recombinant proteins, PCR and qPCR assays, and advanced immunochemical testing. She was a key member of the project team involved in the development of innovative biological preparations and animal vaccines, including the first Polish vaccine against infections caused by E. coli and Campylobacter jejuni, as well as innovative therapies and vaccines against bovine mastitis.

With her practical laboratory experience and strong analytical skills, she makes an important contribution to the development of new technologies and solutions that strengthen the company’s competitiveness.

Her work is defined by a high level of commitment, attention to quality and a strong focus on innovation. Her experience combines research expertise, laboratory practice and educational activity.

Rafał Walkusz
Senior Specialist

Rafał Walkusz joined the IMMUNOLAB team in 2023. His professional experience includes work in several different laboratory environments, where he developed specialist expertise in the applied use of proteomics and genetics, as well as in the development of modern diagnostic methods.

He specialises in protein engineering — from molecular cloning and overproduction in bacterial and yeast expression systems to purification and detailed molecular characterisation. In his work with enzymes, he has also focused on defining the environmental conditions required to maintain their full activity.

Another area of his expertise is the use of Phage Display technology to identify specific biomolecule sequences. At the same time, he has developed advanced competencies in genetic diagnostics by designing and implementing innovative diagnostic systems based on PCR, RT-PCR and LAMP for the detection of pathogens and genetic mutations in humans and animals.

Aleksandra Stodolna
Specialist

Aleksandra Stodolna joined IMMUNOLAB in 2022. She specializes in the applied use of immunochemical techniques, molecular biology and modern diagnostic methods. In her work, she focuses on the design, optimization and validation of ELISA immunoenzymatic assays, including the selection of analytical parameters, development of procedures and implementation of improvements that increase the sensitivity and repeatability of analyses. She has extensive experience in immunochemical and microbiological methods, such as culture techniques, bacterial and bacteriophage propagation, and assessment of the biological activity of preparations. At the same time, she develops her competencies in molecular biology — from DNA isolation and PCR reactions, through the expression and purification of recombinant proteins, to their characterization using SDS-PAGE and affinity chromatography.

At IMMUNOLAB, she is responsible for the development and optimization of processes in the R&D Department, combining conceptual, technical and laboratory approaches. In addition, she serves as the person responsible for safety in the Genetic Engineering Facility, ensuring that the work conducted complies with applicable regulations and biosafety standards. Her work supports the development of new immunological and biotechnological solutions with high application potential.

Marisol Chura Quispe
Laboratory Technician

Marisol Chura Quispe joined the IMMUNOLAB team in 2025 as an intern and now works as a Laboratory Technician, actively supporting activities carried out in the Research and Development Department.

In her daily work, she is responsible for preparing buffers, sterilisation, and operating and preparing laboratory equipment for subsequent stages of project research. Her work is an important part of ensuring that the research team functions efficiently and in accordance with procedures.

She systematically develops her competencies through internal training, expanding her knowledge and skills in laboratory work. Thanks to her commitment and willingness to learn, she is steadily building her experience in the R&D environment while supporting the implementation of innovative projects.
