Declaration of conformity

The SIT EnTy kit contains the essential antisera required for the detailed identification of strains recommended by the European Commission. In order to correctly identify a strain, it is necessary not only to detect the presence of the relevant antigens, but also to exclude the presence of other antigens, according to the Kauffmann-White-Le Minor scheme.

The SIT EnTy kit contains:

  • 13 bottles of antisera for serological identification of isolates
  • 2 bottles of antisera for inhibition of the dominant phase
  • clear instruction for use.

The SIT EnTy kit enables:

  • rapid identification testing of S. Enteritidis and S. Typhimurium strains
  • effective inhibition of the dominant phase in S. Typhimurium isolates
  • bacterial culture supporting enhanced expression of flagellar antigensszybkie przeprowadzenie testów identyfikacyjnych szczepów S. Enteritidis i S. Typhimurium

In addition, a short video showing step-by-step slide agglutination is available on the website.

Our kit contains everything you need to ensure reliable serological identification of Salmonella Typhimurium and Salmonella Enteritidis strains.

1) Commission Regulation (EU) No 1086/2011

of 27 October 2011 amending Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Annex I to Commission Regulation (EC) No 2073/2005 as regards Salmonella in fresh poultry meat.

(9) According to the European Union summary report on trends and sources of zoonoses, zoonotic agents and food-borne outbreaks in 2008, prepared by the European Food Safety Authority, approximately 80% of human salmonellosis cases are caused by Salmonella Enteritidis and Salmonella Typhimurium, as in previous years. Poultry meat remains the most important source of human salmonellosis.

(13) Monophasic Salmonella Typhimurium strains have rapidly become one of the most commonly detected Salmonella serotypes in several animal species and in clinical isolates from humans. According to the scientific opinion on monitoring and assessing the public health risk posed by Salmonella Typhimurium-like strains, monophasic Salmonella Typhimurium strains with the antigenic formula 1,4,[5],12:i:- are considered variants of Salmonella Typhimurium and, based on current evidence, pose a public health risk comparable to that posed by other Salmonella Typhimurium strains. It should therefore be clarified that provisions concerning Salmonella Typhimurium also apply to these monophasic strains.
