SIT InHaVi Kit

Quick Identification Test

for strains of Salmonella Infantis, Hadar and Virchow

Due to the introduction of amendments to the Regulations No. 2160/3003 and 200/2010 in relation to the „reduction of the prevalence of Salmonella serotypes in adult breeding flocks of Gallus gallus”issued in 2011 by the EU Commission, which place particular emphasis on detection and identification of Salmonella serovars such as: S.Infantis, S.Hadar and S.Virchow,
we prepared for you the ready-to-use SIT InHaVi Kit for serological identification of these strains.

Salmonella have three types of antigen: the somatic (O), capsular Vi (some serotypes), and flagellar (H). Because of great diversity of mentioned antigens there are now 2579 Salmonella strains. Their correct identification is essential for the proper classification of  Salmonella strains.

The SIT InHaVi Kit includes necessary sera for detailed identification of the recommended strains. It is important to recognize and serologically confirm Salmonella strains while excluding other serotypes that have similar composition of flagellar antigens (shortened scheme of Kauffmann-White-Le Minor is on the website under „Download„).

SITInHaVi Kit includes:

  • 14 bottles of sera for serological identification of isolates,
  • 1 bottle of serum to inhibit the dominant phase,
  • semi-solid medium allowing proper identification of flagellar antigens,
  • clear instruction on how to use SIT InHaVi Kit.

SIT InHaVi Kit allows:

  • quick testing and identification of Salmonella Infantis, Hadar and Virchow
  • effective inhibition of dominant phase of S. Virchow and S. Infantis isolates
  • bacterial culture reinforcing flagellar antigen expression

In addition, on our website you can find a short video showing the agglutination test step by step. Click here to watch the video.
